On Saturday, 18/10/2025, the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the College of Engineering, Alnoor University, conducted a training session for fourth-year students on testing and determining the specific gravity of various petroleum products. Two different gasoline samples, two kerosene samples, and two different diesel samples were tested using a graduated hydrometer. Temperatures were also measured. In addition, the petroleum product samples were tested for the presence of water using a specially designed detector. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Karim Abdel Qader provided a comprehensive explanation of the practical methods and how to handle petroleum products and use the equipment, under the supervision of Dr. Taha Hussein Al-Salem, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering.
