About the Department

The Biomedical Sciences Department studies the scientific foundations of life and the biological processes occurring within the human body at the cellular, molecular, tissue, and organ levels. This specialization combines medicine and biological sciences and aims to understand the causes and mechanisms of diseases, as well as to develop methods for their diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. It serves as an important bridge between scientific research and medical practice, preparing graduates to work in fields such as medical laboratories, biomedical research, biotechnology, and the pharmaceutical industry.

Department Objectives

Preparing scientifically and technically qualified graduates to work in medical laboratories, biological research, and pharmaceutical industries. Developing academic curricula in line with advancements in life sciences and modern medical technologies. Encouraging scientific research in molecular medicine, genetics, immunology, and microbiology. Strengthening scientific cooperation with universities, research centers, and health institutions. Instilling principles of professional ethics and respect for human values in research and medical practice. Serving the community by promoting health awareness and participating in preventive programs.

To achieve leadership in education and scientific research in the fields of biomedical sciences at both the local and regional levels, and for the department to become a distinguished center for preparing scientific cadres who contribute to the development of the health and research sectors.

Providing distinguished education in biomedical sciences that keeps pace with global advancements, and preparing graduates who possess the scientific and practical competence to work in medical and research fields, while promoting ethical values, a spirit of research and discovery, and community service through applied research and innovation.

Graduate Description

Familiarity with the basic knowledge of biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, and physiology. Ability to analyze biological samples and diagnose medical conditions using modern laboratory techniques. Application of biosafety and biosecurity principles in laboratory work. Participation in medical research and scientific projects that contribute to the development of modern medicine. Use of advanced software and laboratory equipment to analyze biological data. Effective communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary scientific and healthcare environments. Commitment to professional ethics and scientific responsibility. Preparedness to pursue postgraduate studies in biomedical sciences, medicine, or public health.
